Before the Beginning

It's funny to be creating a blog when I haven't even followed through with my previous blog endeavor, but it's a new year so whatevs.

I've lost weight before.  I've done it via various means.  Over the past 20 years, I've done:
Jenny Craig (food wasn't great, and it sure was expensive)
Weight Watchers (nice plan, but couldn't deal with the know-it-alls who were twice my size.  If you knew better, why are you here?)
Low-fat (just why)
Low-carb (at the time, I thought I was dying)
I know that I did at least one master cleanse (for maybe a day.  I thought there was a fire in my bung hole)
7 day juice cleanse (actually wasn't as bad as I thought, though I did end up dreaming of chewing on my loved ones by the time I quit)

But what I enjoyed the most, and found easiest to stick with, was Whole30.  Yes, it's restrictive.  Yes, it pretty much guarantees that you have to eat at home since most things are cooked in non-compliant oils or come with hidden (or not-so-hidden) sugars.  I swear, I haven't eaten that much good food in my LIFE!

So, I'm starting Whole30 again on Wednesday.  This will document my journey.

In the interests of transparency and accountability, I'm trying to get up the courage to post my before pics and weight.  We'll see if the pics actually make it on this blog.

So, sit back, relax, and come with me as I attempt to lead a healthier life in 2014.
